Children lying about their use of social media in Denmark 2018, by age and gender
In 2018, nine percent of the 11-year-old boys often lied about the amount of time they used on social media, which was three percent more than the girls in the same age group. However, this number doubled for the 13-year-old girls where 12 percent of the respondents did not tell the truth about their social media habits. For the 15-year-olds, ten percent of the boys and 11 percent of the girls had this issue.
