In 2023, nearly 142 men and 101 women per 100,000 population died from diseases of the respiratory system in England. The North West of England had the highest mortality from respiratory diseases for men at roughly 169 per 100,000, while the North East region had the highest female mortality rate at 127 deaths per 100,000 population.
