Cinema attendance in Costa Rica from 2015-2022
Throughout 2022, movie theaters across Costa Rica sold approximately 4.4 million tickets, up from 3.1 million a year earlier – an increase of nearly 42 percent. Still, the 2022 figure amounted to less than 55 percent of the attendance of over eight million recorded in 2019, before the pandemic. Costa Rica had the highest box office revenue in Central America in 2022.
