Box office revenue in the Dominican Republic 2016-2021
In 2022, the Dominican Republic reported a box office gross of 16.3 million U.S. dollars, up from 7.7 million dollars a year earlier – an increase of about 111 percent.
Despite the annual growth, the 2022 figure amounted to around 77 percent of the 21-million-dollar revenue recorded in 2019, before the pandemic. For comparison, three other Central American countries had box office revenues higher than the Dominican Republic in 2022.
