Top 20 tour operators in the Netherlands 2017, by revenue

As of 2017, TUI Netherlands, subsidiary of TUI Group, had a revenue of roughly 1.26 billion euros and was the leading tour operator in the Netherlands. Corendon generated a revenue of approximately 500 million euros, whereas Sundio Group saw its revenue amounted to 391 million euros. Observing the leading online travel agencies in the Netherlands, TUI Netherlands led this ranking as well and had a revenue of 630 million euros in 2017. KLM (mostly known as an airliner) generated 610 million euros of online revenue as an agency, whereas Travix (Vliegwinkel.nl) had approximately 500 million euros.

Couples without children spent on average the most money on holidays

When families from the Netherlands go on holidays, they spent on average nearly 2,700 euros on their vacations in 2019. It is a slight increase compared to the previous year, but less when comparing it to the holiday expenditure of couples without children. Roughly 2,880 euros was spent on holidays by couples with no children, whereas singles had an average expenditure of 1,474 euros.

Germany most popular outbound holiday destination

In total, roughly 22 million holidays that were booked from the Netherlands between October 2017 and September 2018 had an outbound destination. Most of the holidays were spent in Germany, France and Spain. Approximately 3.6 million holidays were held in Germany and was the most popular outbound destination, whereas roughly 2.84 and 2.69 million booked holidays were spent in France and Spain.
