According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2024, around 48 percent of female respondents who read digital comics paid for the content in that year. A similar share of male respondents, at 46.4 percent, also paid for digital comic content. Comics are popular in South Korea, and the vast majority of South Koreans consumed comics in a digital format.
