As of the summer of 2019, 670 players were transferred to, from or within the highest Dutch football league (Eredivisie) in the Netherlands. This is the highest registered transfer volume in the period between 2012 and 2019. Ajax received the highest amount of money from player transfers, with Frenkie de Jong (86 million) and Matthijs de Ligt (75 million euros) as the highest recorded out going transfers. The club from Amsterdam also spent more than any other team on player transfers. Quincy Promes was with 15.7 million euros the most expensive buy from a club playing in the Eredivisie in 2019.
Data on 2020 are still incomplete, as the transfer window for most competitions are open until the beginning of October (due to COVID-19).
