By the end of 2022, there were 3,539 enterprises with foreign investment in Guangdong's Pearl River Delta in total, among which 805 were loss-making companies. Adding Hong Kong and Macau, the Pearl River Delta is also called Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. This is one of the most economically active regions in China.
