In a 2019 survey, 69 percent of respondents from India either agreed or strongly agreed that there should be communal space on airplanes for socializing. However, there is a significant divergence in national attitudes over this issue. Only 20 percent of Japanese and 22 percent German respondents answered positively to this question.
