According to a survey carried out in August of 2019, Brazilian women's opinion on the Bolsonaro Administration's handling of illegal deforestation in the Amazon was more critical than men's. When asked whether they agreed with the sentence "President Jair Bolsonaro and the Federal Government should increase control measures to prevent illegal deforestation in the Amazon", 92 percent of female respondents in Brazil strongly agreed, while 89 percent of men did so.
