With the exception of a slight increase between 2014 and 2015, the area of land used for organic wheat and spelt farming in the Netherlands decreased annually within the time-frame considered. In 2012, there were close to 1,700 hectares of organic wheat and spelt farmland in the Netherlands, whereas by 2016, this figure had decreased to 959 hectares in total.
