Number of movies seen each month in the U.S. in 2019, by age group

As of 2019, approximately 38 percent of adults aged 18 to 29 report that they see about one movie per month in a theatre. People seem to become progressively less likely to watch movies in theatres the older they get, with over 60 percent of the 65+ age group stating that they never see movies in theatres. Within each age group there is a small portion of movie lovers who state that they see five or more movies each month in theatres.
