In an opinion poll of 2018, 38.4 percent of male Japanese respondents answered that they were worried about food poisoning, making it the main concern among Japanese men. For Japanese women, food additives were the main reason to worry about food safety, with 47.2 percent expressing their concern. As the statistic shows, Japanese women tended to worry more about food safety than Japanese men in all of the major categories. For both groups, television and radio were the main sources of information regarding this topic.
