According to a 2018 survey, the main reason given by Millennials to justify the lack of celebration of Independence day in Mexico was because there is nothing to celebrate, with 29 percent of respondents mentioning it. That same year, 21.1 percent of Millennial respondents stated that they had to work or had no time.
Independence Day in Mexico is an important national holiday officially celebrated on September 16th. However, every year a certain share of the population decides not to celebrate the date.
