The area illegally cultivated with coca crops in the Colombian department of Cauca amounted to around 17.1 thousand hectares in 2018, an increase of seven percent in comparison to the previous year. Since 2013, the area cultivated with coca in the department has been consistently increasing. Cauca was the department with the fourth largest illegally cultivated coca area in Colombia.
