A survey conducted in Italy in August, concurrently with the beginning of the government crisis, revealed that one third of respondents did not know what to answer when asked whether the party Lega Nord should have formed a formed a coalition or should have aimed at governing alone. On the other hand, 23.5 percent of population entitled to vote believed that Lega Nord’s best option was to govern alone without seeking for any alliance. In addition, the third largest group of respondents stated that Lega should have considered the possibility to form a coalition the right-wing party Fratelli d'Italia.
