From 2014 to 2017, the total amount of funds raised in the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) in China grew from 31.2 to 137.7 billion yuan. In early 2018, China Banking Regulatory Commission announced a new regulation, restricting the funds' transactions from foreign-funded banks, resulting in a decrease in the total amount of funds raised in the stock exchange.
