Chinese credit card market loan balance 2012-2018
The outstanding amount of credit card revolving loans in China reached 15.4 trillion yuan in 2018, showing continued growth of more than fourfold over the past seven years. Despite Chinese individuals having less than one credit card on average in 2018, the country's e-commerce was booming and the outbound travel was surging. These factors contributed to the expansion of credit card loans.
