Awareness of the threats resulting from content to which children are exposed while playing video games in Poland increased between 2018 and 2019. However, in 2020, there was a decrease in the percentage of parents who used the PEGI system to select video games for their children. Moreover, the share of parents who did not know what the PEGI system was increased by three percent year-on-year.

* Age ratings, such as PEGI (Pan European Game Information), are systems used to ensure that entertainment content, such as games, but also films, tv shows or mobile apps, is clearly labeled with a minimum age recommendation based on the content they have. These age ratings provide guidance to consumers, parents in particular, to help them decide whether or not to buy a particular product for a child. The PEGI rating considers the age suitability of a game, not the level of difficulty.
