The share of total working hours lost in North America due to heat stress is expected to increase from 0.1 percent in 1995 to 0.2 percent by 2030. Southern Asia is forecast to be one of the regions hit hardest by hot temperatures, where it is expected that 5.3 percent of working hours lost in 2030 will be due to heat stress.
