According to the results of a survey conducted by Ipsos, 65 percent of the surveyed Indian respondents agreed that infringing on the sovereignty of a country committing war crimes was justified through military intervention in order to stop the crimes. Only nine percent of respondents disagreed with the statement.

The question asked in the survey was as follows: "To what extent, if at all, do you agree or disagree with the following statement? If a country commits war crimes other countries should intervene to stop it, even if that infringes on its sovereignty?"
According to the source, respondents were more urban and educated, with higher incomes than their fellow citizens, referred to as "Upper Deck Consumer Citizens". They were not nationally representative of their country.
