Almost 22 percent of the Mexican population were considered neither poor nor vulnerable in 2018. The share of people in Mexico who were believed to not suffer from poverty or other social deprivation increased from 18.7 percent in 2008 to 22.6 percent in 2016, but decreased for the first time in the presented period in 2018, when the share was estimated at 21.9 percent. Nuevo León was the Mexican state with the highest share of inhabitants who are not considered poor or vulnerable in that same year.
