According to a survey conducted in July 2019, the most popular underwear items during winter season in Japan were undershirts, such as t-shirts or tank tops. Other commonly worn undergarments were shorts and bras, almost 42 percent of respondents reported to wear the former, while the latter was worn by around 37 percent of respondents. Less than one percent of respondents stated to not wear any kind of underwear at all during winter in Japan.
