Coahuila was the state in Mexico with the highest share of people who don't suffer from poverty or other social deprivations, reaching 47 percent, whereas Chiapas was the state with the lowest rate, with 8.1 percent. In that same year, Chiapas was the Mexican state with the highest number of people living under extreme poverty.
