Mexico: population living in moderate poverty 2018, by state

Puebla was the state in Mexico with the highest average moderate poverty rate in 2018. It was estimated that over half of the population in Puebla lived in a situation of moderate poverty. On the other hand, Nuevo León was the state with the lowest moderate poverty rate, with 14.1 percent, well below the national average, which stood at almost 34.5 percent. The share of population living in poverty in Mexico amounted to 42 percent in 2018.
