Share of people feeling threatened by burqas in Netherlands 2019, by political party
In August 2019, when respondents in the Netherlands were asked whether they felt unsafe when they encounter a woman wearing a burqa, over half of voters surveyed indicated that this was the case. The share of people who felt threatened by women wearing burqas was highest among PVV and 50Plus voters. 90 percent of PVV voters indicated that they felt unsafe when they saw a woman in a burqa, while this figure was just one percent lower for 50Plus voters.
