In 2017, the number of HIV-positive pregnant women who were receiving antiretroviral therapy in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to 21.5 thousand, up from 21 thousand the year before. This figure has been constantly increasing since 2012, when the number of patients in this condition added up to 19.5 thousand.
