During the fiscal year 2017, gross value added by machinery and equipment manufacturing accounted for approximately 4.5 trillion rupees in India. There was a consistent increase in GVA from the manufacturing industries in recent years in the country. As per the government, these industries was projected to contribute 25 percent to the country's gross domestic product by 2022.
