The Dominican Republic saw a boost in its internal travel and tourism consumption during the past decade. Between 2010 and 2019, the value of consumption related to this sector grew 75 percent, rising from 6.22 billion U.S. dollars to nearly 10.9 billion dollars. In 2019, the Dominican Republic registered the highest internal tourism consumption in the Caribbean.
