Reasons for renting a house among Gen Xers in the U.S. 2018-2019

In April 2019, 41 percent of Gen X renters in the United States said that renting was a good choice for now and they cannot afford to buy a home, but would like to purchase a home as some point. In contrast, ten percent said that they want to own and are working towards it. In February 2018, 32 percent of Gen X renters said they couldn't afford to buy and 19 percent said that they want to purchase a home and are working towards it.
