Brazil: Lush Cosmetics' revenue 2017-2019

In the 2019 financial year, Lush Cosmetics Limited generated a revenue of 348 thousand pounds in Brazil, after ceasing manufacturing and retail operations in the South American country a year earlier. After this decision, announced in May 2018, the British cosmetics company sold most of its products in this market for 50 percent of the normal price until stocks ran out. Before leaving Brazil, Lush employed 140 people in the country.

Third time lucky?

With five stores opened the state of São Paulo in 2014, Lush Cosmetics Limited attempted to conquer the leading Latin American cosmetic market for the second time in its history. The company, headquartered in the Southern town of Poole, England, had already tried its luck in Brazil back in 1999 but decided to close operations eight years later.

Lush’s international reach

Lush Cosmetics is known in its home country, the United Kingdom, as well as in other 20 markets for its colorful handmade products. Though most of its stores are located in European countries, Japan constitutes the single most important international market for the British company, not only by the number of stores but also in terms of revenue.
