According to a survey conducted in Indonesia in April 2018, almost 60 percent of respondents stated that they had encountered pop-ups with pornographic material while browsing. With over 104 million internet users, Indonesia is one of the biggest online markets worldwide. As of March 2017, online penetration in the country stood at only slightly over 50 percent. Popular online activities include mobile messaging and social media.
