The share of youth nor employed nor studying in Russia decreased both in urban and rural areas in 2021. In cities, the share of unemployed young residents fell to 8.1 percent. As for rural areas, in 2010, nearly one fifth of the observed age group were neither employed nor enrolled in an educational institution nor obtaining professional skills. In 2021, that figure was measured at 15.7 percent.
