Cash and deposits were the largest type of liquid assets managed by corporations operating within all Japanese industries in 2017, valued at approximately 222 trillion Japanese yen. That year, liquid assets accounted for almost 44 percent of the total corporate assets in Japan, implying the ability of Japanese businesses to meet their financial obligations.
