China's medical beauty market breakdown 2018
As of 2018, facial cosmetic surgery accounted for 35.4 percent of the medical cosmetology market, followed by cosmetic dentistry with32.5 percent. In that year 22 million clients sought the services of the cosmetic surgery industry, which generated over 200 billion yuan (equal to about 28 billion U.S. dollars). China is third-largest market for medical cosmetology, especially young and male clients reckon cosmetic surgery as an acceptable way to boost self-esteem.
