Panama: undernourishment prevalence 2004-2018
Even though Panama is one of the Latin American countries with the highest GDP per capita, the prevalence of undernourishment in the country was estimated at 10 percent between 2016 and 2018. This relatively recent data shows a significant improvement in comparison to the previous decade, when almost 23 percent of the Panamanian population was considered to have an insufficient habitual food intake to lead an active and healthy life.
