Locally produced tea sales volume distribution in China 2023, by type

In 2023, green tea accounted for approximately 54 percent of the total domestically grown tea sales volume in China. Post-fermented tea, also referred to as dark tea, was the third most produced and domestically sold tea type in China with approximately 15.7 percent sales share. Pu'er is the most popular variety of the post-fermented Chinese teas.
