In 2022, green tea accounted for approximately 55 percent of the total domestically grown tea sales volume in China. Post-fermented tea, also referred to as dark tea, was the third most produced and domestically sold tea type in China with approximately 15.2 percent sales share. Pu'er is the most popular variety of the post-fermented Chinese teas.
