The U.S. federal government has reduced been able to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from its standard operations over the last decade. Scope 1 emissions from standard federal agency operations totaled 14 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, with 2.64 million metric tons from passenger fleet vehicles.
