The survey results suggest that as of 2018, a large share of consumers who preferred domestic products over imported products did so out of concern for the local economy and the quality of the products. Just over 25 percent of consumers cited supporting the local economy as a reason to opt for domestic products, while just eight percent of respondents indicated taste played a role in their preference.
