Most used payment methods at POS of different age groups in the Netherlands in 2022
Dutch Millennials ages 25 to 34 were most inclined to use tap to pay for transactions in a physical store, making up the majority of their payments in 2022. Almost 25 percent of all payments done by 12-to-18-year-olds were done with cash. The source, however, does not distinguish further within this age bracket. One can therefore wonder whether a 17-year-old still used as much cash as a 12-year-old. As Dutch teenagers grew older, for example, they started to use more online banking functions.
