Medicare telehealth users and received services U.S. 2016, by health status

Given the increase in telehealth services being offered in the U.S. it is not surprising to find that more specialized care is being offered remotely. However, more acute care settings have utilized telehealth services longer than other primary care or skilled nursing facilities. As of 2016, the number of Medicare beneficiaries utilizing telehealth services that were also disabled was around 58 thousand. Comparatively, the number of Medicare beneficiaries utilizing telehealth services that also had a mental health diagnosis was around 74.6 thousand at that time. In total there were 89.2 thousand Medicare beneficiaries that used telehealth services that year.
