In 2020, almost a third of the museums' revenue in the Netherlands came from private sources. Government subsidies continued to be an important revenue stream in the country, with about 27 percent of museum income being sourced directly from state funds. In addition to this, museums were provided with coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic support which amounted to 15 percent of total revenue in the industry.
