YouTube: most commented music videos from Latin artists 2024

As of June 2024, "Despacito" by Puerto Rican singers Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee was the most commented video from a Latin American artist on YouTube and the tenth most commented on the platform, gathering more than 4.25 million comments. Already in February 2019, the global hit became the most-watched music video in the history of YouTube and, consequently, the most viewed music video on the website from a Latin American artist.

In her own league

A colossal musical personality worldwide and in her homeland, Colombian superstar Shakira scored two of her most watched videos on this list: the first was Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), the official theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The second was BZRP Music Sessions #53, recorded with Argentinian DJ Bizarrap. The song is a diss track about her break-up with former football play Gerard Piqué, and it broke the world record of the most-watched new song from a Latin artist on YouTube, reaching more than 82 million views in its first 24 hours.
