Animal health can be an important factor in human health due to it's relationship to human food supplies. A recent survey among individuals in the goat industry asked about the top disease priorities. As of 2017, internal parasites, followed by caseous lymphadenitis, were the top disease priorities. Priorities were ranked based on a weighted points system according to participant responses.
Leading disease priorities among U.S. goat farmers as of 2017
All respondents were asked to select their top three disease priorities. Responses were weighted by priority ranking (priority 1 responses were given three points, priority 2 responses two points, and priority 3 responses one point).
