Amazon forest in Brazil: monthly deforested area 2023

In October 2023, around 300 square kilometers of forest in the Brazilian Amazon were destroyed. Since January, nearly four thousand square kilometers were deforested in the region, a decline of over 60 percent in comparison to the same period in the previous year. Most of the deforested area in the Brazilian Amazon occurrs in private land areas.
