Daily expenditure of international tourists in Italy 2010-2017, by macro-area

This statistic shows the average daily expenditure of international tourists visiting Italy in 2010 and 2017, by macro-area of origin (EU countries and non-EU countries). According to the research, the average daily expenditure of tourists from both EU and non-EU countries increased from 2010 to 2017. While in 2010 European tourists visiting Italy were spending an average of 80 euros per capita per day, this figure increased to 86 euros per day in 2017. Similarly, whereas in 2010 visitors from non-EU countries were spending an average of 106 euros per day, in 2017 they spent a daily average of 131 euros. Thus, as reported by the study, the total average daily spending of international tourists visiting Italy increased from 2010 (88 euros) to 2017 (100 euros).
