Organ donors in Colombia 2008-2023
In 2023, the number of effective organ donors in Colombia added up to 388 people. This represents an increase ofalmost 17 percent in comparison to the previous year, when the number of donors amounted to 332. However, this figure is still lower than before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when 417 effective organ donors were reported for 2019. By the end of the period analyzed, a total of 1,423 organ transplants were carried out in the South American country.
