This statistic depicts the percentage of Medicare enrollees that had a new episode of major depression and used antidepressant medication for at least 84 days in 2017, by rurality. At that time 71.4 percent of urban and 59.3 percent of rural Medicare enrollees had used antidepressants to treat acute depression.
