Between 2016 and 2018, France was the main destination country of cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery exported from Italy, based on export value. According to data provided by Prometeia, in 2018, the exports to France registered a value of 358.2 million euros and double that of the exports to Germany and the UK, the other main destination country of cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery.
